Jeffrey's Bay (J-Bay) is a name familiar to any surfer and a place worthy of the title 'Surfing Mecca'. Located on the East Cape of South Africa and home to the world's longest righthand wave, J-Bay is a series of right hand pointbreaks offering a variety of conditions from mellow, longboard waves to high performance tubes. J-Bay also has a selection of beach breaks, ideal for beginners or anyone tired of pointbreak perfection. Another attraction are the dolphins who surf in the bay most days. Other waves nearby include Cape St Francis, immortalised in Endless Summer and Seal Point, a beach break and point. With a wide variety of waves, surfers of all abilities are welcome and Surf South West's senior instructors will be on hand to offer coaching and guidance.

Accommodation is on a self catering basis in shared apartments overlooking the bay with spectacular sea and surf views. Car hire is definitely recommended to enable you to seek out the best surf and get around town. Nights out tend to revolve around the local restaurants and pubs offering great cuisine at very reasonable prices.
